FROM 2008- minru/jenise: i'm guessing the computer orientation and the classroom decorating are the most important things here...can we schedule those for right after a noon lunch, maybe 1pm? hmmm, perhaps the chinese english teachers could meet us at the teaching buidling either during or after this instead of at dinner? if there are enough of them, they might even be able to help each teacher figure out the chinese labels on the technology panel?
Classrooms computers have:
Windows Media Player
From E Voss:
If we have classrooms similar to last year, they should be well equipped with computers screens, an ELMO, etc. Windows media player, which should be on the computers, plays mpegs. You can download youtube videos (FLV format) and convert them to mpeg format. (Ask me if you'd like an email on how to do that) I would suggest burning a CD/DVD rather than using a flash drive to avoid transmitting a virus to your laptop. You may need to burn a few disks the first few days if you are revising PPTs or other materials. Extra storage media is always useful.
Other useful items to bring are tape, rubber bands, twist ties (for the luggage), plastic ziplock bags (for organization and to keep things dry) and note cards
